So we threw in the towel on that concept and just have it sitting on our kitchen counter for light in the kitchen if you want to get a glass of water or something like that in the middle of the night time without turning on the primary lights. The light comes on by movement, usually works, and provides lots of light.
The primary seam around the unit is weak, but running a little bead of silicone around it will make sure water doesn’t get in.
Occasionally I pop into the closet and the light activates and other times it does not. Time will tell but I am happy with both lights.
I’ve purchased solar powered lights previously and that was a waste of cash. It worked for a day. Can only use the item as a torchlight now by switching to on mode. I looked around to determine how many lumens it was, but could not find it anyplace on the driveway lighting package.
The backyard lighting isn’t blinding, but enough to find the key in the doorway, although not well enough to read by as a comparison. I needed a battery driven light with movement sensor that was sufficiently strong to light the stairway so nobody would trip on the stairs at our vacation parties. Pretty good but the LED’s are not that bright. I give this porch lighting product 1 star because it will not let me give it zero stars.
After I ordered this light, I concurrently ordered four high quality Tenergy NiMh rechargeable batteries for it that I use in a number of other gadgets.
I tossed it when the batteries died.
It is light, fairly small, and also to my shock extremely bright. This handsome outside motion-activated light is simple enough to set up, sets up easily to light up the intended region, but is way too sensitive for a small- or medium-size patio with leafy container vegetation and occasional breezes. I guess that I could live with that if I hadn’t been told in writing it would not happen due to the built-in daylight off perform! I sealed up the battery compartment as suggested by a previous purchaser to ensure all stayed dry. You can’t fail with these to light up your front porch furniture. Lights come on once the door opens or just while you reach into closet. Comes on quick is very bright in a tiny space and batteries seem to last.
